- A little history; Merlin entered our lives in March. He was a rescue who was in really rough shape, with little calcium in his teeth, never having a dust bath, and had been fed rabbit food for the first year and a half of his life. Now, he is nearly two, and the scared little creature is now one of the sweetest and most social chinchillas ever.
